Mayra Paniagua, Golden State Farms

As the daughter of migrant farmworkers, and a first generation, Latina college graduate, Mayra’s motivation in establishing a small family farm has been deeply rooted in her family’s strength and resilience. Mayra earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Azusa Pacific University and since then she knew she would start her own business one day. As the founder of Golden State Farms, Mayra is continuing her parents’ legacy of producing fresh, high-quality strawberries and lemons in California’s sunny Central Coast. She is dedicated to amplifying the voices of farmers through her participation in organizations such as the California Strawberry Commission, National Young Farmers Coalition, and the USDA Farm Service Agency County Community. One of Mayra’s core values is centered on community involvement, as she provides consulting services to small businesses because she believes uplifting one another can help transform the world.
