Tina began working at Cuesta College in 1990. She was Technical Services Librarian until 2004, when she transferred to the North County campus to become the first full-time North County Librarian. She oversees the North County Library, works on the reference desk 20 hours per week, and supervises collection development for the Cuesta College Library as a whole. She is specifically responsible for collection development in the areas of self-help, health and medicine, business, ESL, foreign languages, and sign language. She just finished four semester classes of Spanish to improve bilingual services at the North County Library. Her current projects include creating a Spanish-language cheatsheet for library staff at the North County campus, and preparing for a new permanent library building in the future.
Tina has a B.A. in Religion from Vanguard University, formerly named Southern California College, and a Masters in Library Science from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She is a resident of North County and enjoys gardening, playing with her cats, seeing friends, and reading good books. Now that she has finished formal study of Spanish, she looks forward to having time for pleasure reading again. Her personal webpage can be found at http://tlau.weebly.com/?.
