Hello, I am the Technical Services Librarian for Cuesta College. My duties include overseeing the acquisitions and cataloging at the library, including managing the catalog and Integrated Library Software, helping students at the reference desk, and teaching bibliographic instruction. I teach LIBT 4, Organizing Information.
My experience in libraries began as a student worker in the Technical Services department of University of California, Santa Barbara during the library's conversion from card catalog to online OPAC. After a stint as a special librarian when I managed an electronic newspaper article database, I did some time in the dot com world before coming back to library land.
My library/information studies work has included AACR2 and metadata cataloging for the library at the Museum for Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (MOCA), cataloging art books at The J. Paul Getty Research Libary, and research on the use of primary source materials in education for the Museums of the Online Archive of California (MOAC).
I hold MLIS from University of California, Los Angeles and a B.A. in English from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
In my spare time I enjoy time with my husband and our two standard poodles, travel, reading about mid century architecture, and researching many strange and wonderful topics for my friends and family.
