Introduction to
Distance Education at Cuesta
Welcome to Distance Education at
Cuesta College. Courses offered in this modality are delivered "at a
distance" with either limited or no required on-campus sessions.
While
distance education provides an alternative to the traditional
classroom-based format, However, it does place more responsibility on the
student to be self-disciplined and to apply solid independent study skills.
Find out more about how successful you may be at distance education by
taking an online assessment test at the Is DE for You? section of this web site.
Courses offered through Cuesta
College's Distance Education program are equivalent to the classroom-based
version in course content, textbooks, required assignments, exams, study
time, etc. The only difference is the method in which the course is
delivered.
It is
important before registering for a distance education course that you read
the Course Welcome Letter. Some distance
education courses have mandatory face-to-face meetings, require certain
technologies, and/or have other requirements that you should know about
before taking the course.
