Cuesta QuickStart for Math and English
WHAT IS IT? Cuesta QuickStart is a program of skills-refresher courses targeting students who are taking math and English classes below the college-transfer level (Math 127 and below; English 156 and below). All students can expect to increase their skills and comfort level with the course material; new/entering students also have the chance to retake the math or English assessment tests and place into a higher course level.
WHEN IS IT?
Workshops are usually held during the summer or winter breaks, lasting two weeks of various days, on both campuses. See the links below for scheduling information for our Summer 2017 workshops.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Math workshops are available to --continuing students who have not taken a math class in at least two years and are taking Math 127 or below (and have never passed Intermediate Algebra or higher at any college). --entering students who have taken the Cuesta assessment test and were placed into Math 127 or below and have already passed the class in high school or at another college.
English workshops are open to all students taking English 156 or below.
WHY SHOULD YOU SIGN UP? --save yourself a semester or more of math if you assess higher when you retake the assessment test --avoid having to re-take a course you already passed in high school or at another college --brush up on your math skills if it's been a while since your last math class --It’s FREE!
